The Library is situated in the center of Nova Gorica and it performs the tasks of a central regional library for the Goriška Region. It provides it's services for the municipalities of Nova Gorica, Kanal ob Soči, Brda, Miren - Kostanjevica, Šempeter - Vrtojba and Renče – Vogrsko.

There are more than 520.000 items available for it's visitors and the library also hosts many events, including exhibitions, literary evenings, storytelling hours, creative workshops and book clubs.
